On October 11, a solemn Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) gathering was held at the Khanqah Rahmania Moinia Maizbhandaria and Madrasa Complex in Kolagaon, Patiya, Chattogram, to mark the foundation-stone laying ceremony of its reconstruction. Organized under the management of Mohammad Abdul Kader, Vice President of the Moinia Youth Forum Nalanda Khanqah Sharif Branch, the event welcomed the revered presence of Dr. Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari, Chairman of the Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP) and the Liberal Islamic Alliance, as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saifuddin highlighted that Islam promotes freedom of expression and ensures the right to practice one’s faith without coercion. He stated, “Religion disciplines individuals; however, extremism, violence, and destruction are not supported by Islam. Islam’s core principles are peace, equality, and justice, as taught by our beloved Prophet (SAW). It is due to deviation from these ideals that regions like Syria, Palestine, and Myanmar are suffering from wars and conflicts. To find relief from these challenges, adherence to the Prophet’s (SAW) teachings is essential.”
He emphasized that Islam offers a balanced and comprehensive way of life for all. Dr. Saifuddin quoted the Qur’an, “There is no compulsion in religion. The right path has become distinct from the wrong path,” to reiterate that Islam does not support forced conversions and respects the freedom to follow any faith.
Dr. Saifuddin further expressed that promoting the Prophet’s (SAW) inclusive and humanitarian philosophy is crucial for addressing the current global crises.
The gathering was graced by special guests, including eminent scholars, spiritual leaders, and community dignitaries. The event concluded with a heartfelt closing prayer led by Dr. Saifuddin himself, seeking blessings for the peace, prosperity, and welfare of the global Muslim Ummah and relief for the oppressed.
