The ‘Greater Sunni Alliance’ led by the Supreme Party, Islamic Front and Islamic Front has emerged.

Three registered political parties, Bangladesh Islamic Front, Islamic Front Bangladesh and Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP), have launched a new political platform, ‘Greater Sunni Alliance’, comprising three registered political parties, Bangladesh Islamic Front, and Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP).
The alliance was announced at a press conference held at the National Press Club auditorium on Saturday (August 30) morning. Shaykhul Hadith Principal Allama Zainul Abedin Zubair read out a written statement.
He said, ‘After the great liberation war of 1971, no other movement or struggle has suffered so much loss of life as the July 24 massacre. Exemplary punishment must be given to those involved in that incident, compensation must be given to the families of the martyrs, and better treatment and rehabilitation of the injured must be ensured.’
He alleged that the post-August 5 government has failed to meet the expectations of the people. Mob violence, terrorism, murder, disappearances and extrajudicial killings have continued in the past year. In addition, hundreds of mosques, madrasas and shrines have been attacked and set on fire, yet the government has remained silent.

Regarding the PR election system, Principal Allama Zainul Abedin Zubair said, the PR system is a new concept. It is most likely that the people will be immersed in deep doubt and confusion. Such a system is not compatible with the national political culture and will not reflect the true wishes and aspirations of the people.
17-point demands and 21-point declaration were presented at the press conference. Notable among them are:
Conduct combing operations to recover looted and illegal weapons during the July movement.
Ensure a level playing field in the elections. Declare corrupt, terrorists, loan defaulters and money launderers as ineligible.

Establish a peaceful and non-violent political culture. Develop an interest-free and fair economy.
Create employment by supporting agriculture, industry and small entrepreneurs.
