“No corridor can be given in Rakhine in any way without the people’s mandate.”— BSP Central Executive Committee

The General Meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP) was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at City Mahal Chinese Restaurant on the third floor of Swadhin Bangla Super Market, Mirpur-1, Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by BSP Chairman Dr. Shahjada Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Maizbhandari.

According to the decision made at the meeting, he stated:
“We do not want to see Bangladesh turn into another Palestine or Ukraine. Only individuals who have received the people’s mandate have the right to decide on the issue of a humanitarian corridor in Rakhine. The decision must be made in Parliament. No decision on this issue will be accepted by the people without their elected representatives. BSP engages in politics for the welfare of the country and the nation. Everyone must refrain from making such decisions that put the sovereignty of the country at risk.”

He also issued a warning regarding the Women’s Reform Commission, saying that BSP, along with the people, will resist any law that contradicts the Qur’an and Hadith.

The BSP Chairman further said that on April 26, the grand rally organised by Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat at Suhrawardy Udyan to protest the global persecution of Muslims was obstructed. Various obstacles were created around the rally. However, those identified as accomplices of autocracy — who have benefited in various ways by giving the title “Qaumi Mother” to Sheikh Hasina — were allowed to hold rallies without any hindrance and with government support. The Bangladesh Supreme Party strongly protests this discrimination and double standards.

He also stated that Khatib Maulana Rais Uddin was murdered for his role in organizing the grand rally of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat on April 26. While protests erupted across the country over the murder, the government remained completely indifferent. Instead of registering a case for the murder, a deep conspiracy was undertaken to defame Rais Uddin’s character. This indicates that there is no rule of law in the country. Without the establishment of the rule of law, an explosion of public anger could occur at any time. Then, perhaps, there will be no escape route even for someone like Hasina. Therefore, mob actions must be stopped, and law and good governance must be ensured. The country must be steered toward democracy.

At the meeting, it was also decided that the BSP Council will be held on September 17, 2025. To prepare for the council, 21 sub-committees were formed on various matters.

The meeting was conducted by BSP Additional Secretary General Abul Kalam Azad. Among the speakers were Vice Chairmen Maulana Ashiqur Rahman Hashemi, Maulana Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan of Chandpur, Md. Monir Hossain; Secretary General and Freedom Fighter Advocate Abdul Aziz Sarkar; Joint Secretary Generals Mohammad Aslam Hossain, Sohel Samad Bacchu, Mohammad Rashed Chowdhury; Organizational Secretary ASM Bari; Office Secretary Mohammad Ibrahim Mia; Legal Affairs Secretary Advocate Shah Alam Abhi; Youth Affairs Secretary Mohammad Habibur Rahman Payel; Divisional Organizational Secretary Dhali Kamruzzaman Harun; Zubair Ahmed Maruf; Md.
