Life is a journey of ups and downs; let the new year begin with repentance before our Lord.— Dr. Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari

Repentance is a blessing, an opportunity to start anew. It serves as a means to strengthen and deepen our connection with our Creator. It reminds us that guilt or despair should never prevent us from seeking forgiveness from Allah. Every step of repentance is a successful journey towards the infinite mercy of our Lord. Life is indeed a journey of ups and downs; therefore, let the new year begin with repentance before our Lord.

These words were spoken by Hazrat Shah Sufi Dr. Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Al-Hasani Wal Hussaini Al-Maizbhandari, the current Imam of the Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif and Chairman of the Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP), on Tuesday (31st December) during the annual gathering at the Boro Gobindapur Khanqah Sharif in Chandina, Comilla.

On the occasion of the new year, he urged everyone to avoid all unethical and immoral cultural practices.

The event was presided over by Khalifa Mohammad Alamgir Hossain Maizbhandari, former mayor of Chandina Municipality, with Khalifa Shah Mohammad Alamgir Khan Maizbhandari, General Secretary of the Anjuman-e-Rahmania Mainia Maizbhandaria Central Committee, as the special guest.

The gathering featured discussions by Maulana Mufti Maksudur Rahman Maizbhandari, Khatib of Masjid-e-Gausul Azam in Mirpur-1, Dhaka, and Maulana Hafiz Qari Muhammad Keramat Ali Maizbhandari, among others.

The program concluded with a final supplication (Akhiri Munajat) led by Shah Sufi Maulana Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Al-Hasani Wal Hussaini Al-Maizbhandari Maddazilluhul Ali, praying for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah, the nation, and the global community.
