“Commemorating Sher Bangla: Leaders Honor AK Fazlul Haque Centenary”

On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of undivided Bengal, Sher Bangla AK Fazlul Haque, people from all walks of life including various political and cultural organizations paid their respects at his tomb on Thursday (October 26).
Liberal Islamic Alliance and Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP) Chairman Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al Hasani Maizbhandari, Sher Bangla National Foundation Chairman, A. League leader Bangla and Shere Bangla’s grandson AK Fayazul Haque Raju and granddaughter Liberal Islamic Alliance Co-Chairman and Krishak Sramik Party Chairman Farahnaz Haque Chowdhury, Bangladesh Supreme Party Advisory Council Member Md. Monir Hossain, Vice-Chairman Maulana Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan Chandpuri and other alliance partners. Leaders pay their respects with flowers. At this time, Sayyid Saifuddin Ahmad Al Hasani Maizbhandari led the Fatiha prayer.
The 150th birthday of the tiger of Bengal and the first prime minister of undivided Bengal, Shere Bangla AK Fazlul Haque, is today Thursday, October 26.
Sher Bangla, the undisputed leader of undivided Bengal, the dreamer of Bengali nationalism, was born on this day in 1873 in Matulala of Saturia Miabari of Rajapur Upazila of Jhalkathi. His full name is Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque. But he was better known as Sher-e-Bangla (Tiger of Bengal) and ‘Haq Sahib’.
